Services

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the primary service we offer (please refer to FAQ’s for specifics about the practice of acupuncture). Since you will be treated in your street clothes, please wear loose-fitting clothing to your appointments.  It is important to note that we may not place a needle on the site of pain but on the ends of its energetic pathways, most often found on the patients’ arms and/or legs. We use disposable, sterilized needles that are as thin as a human hair.

Herbal prescription

Prescriptions are given in a pill form.  They are usually small pellet sized pills in a small bottle.  The normal amount prescribed is 8 pills, three times per day but this will vary from patient to patient.

For patients with more complex disease presentation, it may be necessary to consider herbal powders.  We use a company out of Berkeley, CA called Shen Nong Herbs.  We will order a custom powder herbal formula and for a higher fee, they will pill the powders for the patient (some find it easier to swallow the pills than the herbs directly).  Because this treatment method can be somewhat expensive for patients, we will only do this if absolutely necessary.   We are confident that in most cases consistent treatment with acupuncture only will address most health issues for which you are seeking treatment.
